Description
Backstory:
“One day last week, one of my first interactions involved me ranting about the greed of certain people in positions of power. It was a perfectly valid rant–the existence of food insecurity anywhere is so baffling and wrong–but the recipient didn’t match my energy, which was discouraging. Leading with the energy of ‘People suck,’ it turns out, didn’t really move me or anyone else to do much about what I was ranting about, but kept me feeling disconnected and drained for some time after.
Something very different happens, though, when I’m operating from a “People are good (mostly)” place. I notice more evidence of people being innately kind, courageously generous. Interactions are often more connective, gracious and energizing, even if there are tougher subjects being discussed. And, most importantly, without the weight of “People suck” on my shoulders, I have much more capacity to do something in the direction of solutions I seek.
So, take what you need today, and keep going (with ample rest of course). Thank you for the good you bring to our world. It all adds up to a winning game.”
