I was feeling something heavy a few nights ago, restless and sad for no readily obvious reason, and I stumbled upon a video about how hard days and hard feelings don’t last forever. I’ve heard the sentiment many times before, but in that moment it was so deeply comforting to me. (Proof that scrolling isn’t ALL bad, yeah?)
Amongst any “fix it!” “define it!” urges, this was a reminder to maybe, just let the heavy feeling be. Acknowledge it as it passes through. (I think being that witness—whether to yourself or someone you’re listening to—is the most healing force I know)
That was the necessary first step to remembering: these feelings tend to just be growing pains— and I welcome growth, always, anyways.
Remembering: there’s a pattern of really lovely, profound times so often following ones like these.
So, I validated the funk, thanked it for signaling something new and good on the horizon, fell asleep. Trusted the damn process, fine, I suppose.
